The Zip Bass is created around modern composite materials in a headless design that brings a certain lightness, balance, and big tone. The body is a sandwich with autoclave produced carbon fiber plates for the top and back. The middle is hollow made from a proprietary mix of epoxy and graphite. The neck is multi-layers of vacuum infused carbon fiber and Kevlar reinforced by hollow carbon fiber rods and a steel truss rod. The fretboard is either Pau Ferro or Ebony wood with 24 medium size frets and tapers to a either a 38mm or 41mm brass nut. After experimenting with composite fretboards we determined that the feel and sound of wood was more acceptable.
